Journalist Krishan Kumar is dead

New Delhi, May 29 (UNI) Seniormost parliamentary correspondent Krishan Kumar, who belonged to the era when Pandit Nehru bestrode the scene at the Bandung Conference, died here this morning at the age 86.

Mr Kumar had been ailing for sometime.

He is survived by his wife, Santosh, and three children -- a son and two daughters-- who are settled in the US.

Known for his incisive reporting, his assignments took him to places as far as North and South Korea, Algeria, Germany, Italy and several other countries.

He was also associated with the country's first defence journal, Vikrant.

His professional career spanning decades covered the Indian scene from the nascent time of the founding of the Republic to the Indira Gandhi era.
