Indian schoolboy tops competitive event

Dubai, May 29 (UNI) Sweeping the intensely competitive intellectual event, a 16-year-old Indian schoolboy topped in mathematics, physics and chemistry at the Emirates Academic Olympiad 2006 and claimed three gold medals.

Rithvic Rajah, who is a keen participant in debates and playing the keyboard, says his success was all because of the extra reading he does in his free time.

He reads science and mathematics books that are outside the prescribed school syllabus, which he said helped him win in the Olympiad that started in the UAE this year to celebrate scholastic achievement, on both the national and international levels.

This year the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) would be hosted by Slovenia.
