Heavy rains expected in coastal Karnataka, Kerala

Pune, May 29(UNI) The South West monsoon has been active in Kerala.

Heat wave conditions prevailed in Rajasthan, in some parts of West Madhya Pradesh and at isolated places in Haryana. In the regions where the South West monsoon is yet to set in, day temperatures were appreciably to markedly below normal in Assam and Meghalaya, Manipur, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh.

They were appreciably below normal in Sikkim, Uttaranchal, Punjab, Telangana and in some parts of Orissa, Haryana, coastal Andhra Pradesh and were below normal in Bihar and in remaining parts of Orissa.

They were appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and in some parts of West Madhya Pradesh and in remaining parts of Haryana and were above normal in Jammu and Kashmir and in some parts of Saurashtra and of Kutch.

They were normal over the rest of the regions.

Heavy-to-very heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in coastal Karnataka and Kerala.

Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Konkan and Goa and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Chattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, interior Karnataka and at a few places in Jharkhand, Bihar,Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, North Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Marathwada.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over South Rajasthan and Gujarat State.

Heavy-to-very heavy rains have occurred at most places in Kerala and at many places in Assam and Meghalaya and at a few places in South interior Karnataka.

Heavy rains have occurred at most places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal and Lakshadweep.

Very light rains have occurred at isolated places in East Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Rayalseema.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, North interior Karnataka and at a few places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Marathwada, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Konkan and Goa and coastal Andhra Pradesh.
