Govt employees take leave to support agitating doctors
Jaipur, May 29 (UNI) Many state government employees have taken leave today to support the cause of agitating resident doctors who are on an indefinite strike against the proposed reservation here.
Employees of the secretariat are boycotting work today in protest against the proposed reservation and are holding a meeting outside the resident doctors' hostel to show their support.
Many other employees are wearing a black band to work to show their support to the doctors.
Concerned over the deteriorating health care of the patients, Dr Rashim Kataria, co-ordinator Youth for Equality, Rajasthan, said:''We will distibute free medicines today at the parallel OPD outside SMS hospital. We have been inspired by Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat in this regard when a team of doctors went to meet him a few days ago.'' The doctors would also be visiting different villages to ensure proper health care for the patients there.
The resident doctors will also be holding a free blood donation camp at SMS hospital's blood bank tomorrow from 0800 to 1000 hrs in the morning. All doctors will be donating blood in the camp. Dr Kataria said:''Anybody is welcome to donate blood in the camp.'' The agitating doctors here have formed a special 'Protest Committee' to intensify their campaign against reservation.
