Gaurav invited trouble himself, says Ramdev

Hamirpur, May 29 (UNI) Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev today said Gaurav had himself invited trouble by confessing to the Himachal Pradesh Police that he had been engaged by a terrorist organisation to kill him, and he had never dubbed him as a terrorist.

''I had never dubbed Gaurav a terrorist. In fact he had himself invited trouble by confessing that to the police that a militant organisation had engaged him. I had only demanded a through inquiry which will reveal the truth,'' he said at a press conference here.

Hours after he told a news channel that Gaurav could have links with a terrorist organisation, the Swami said it was too early to say that and it was a matter for the police and intelligence officials to investigate.

Replying to a question whether he had met Gaurav, he said hundred of people met him daily and touched his feet and sought his blessings and it could be possible that he might have met him somewhere.

The Yoga Guru also denied giving any interview to Gaurav as mentioned in a section of the press and said he had never spoken to him.

The Swami said he had never sought Z plus security for him and would spurn it if offered to him ever. ''With the security, my aim to help the people will suffer. I had never asked any state government to extend any security to me.'' Meanwhile, Gaurav's interrogation by the Himachal and Punjab Police continued for the second day today with the security agencies failing to establish his link with any terrorist group, official sources said.

The sources said the state government has now handed over the investigation to Hamirpur Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mahinder Singh and the report was expected by June one.
