Denmark to help peace process of Nepal
Kathmandu, May 29: Danish Ambassador to Nepal, Finn Thilsted, has said Denmark has set a flexible amount of fund for Nepal's overall development, including rehabilitation and reconstruction to install peace in the region, media reports said.
''It's up to the government of Nepal how to use the flexible amount of Rs 500 million,'' The Himalayan Times quoted ambassador Thilsted as saying.
The report quoted him as terming Nepal's current political scenario a fragile recovery. ''Peace process has just begun and there are full of challenges ahead. The international community must be ready to support the Nepalese actors towards peace.'' Denmark was ready to play the roles of leader, expertise and financial supporter for peace and stability here, he said.
Major donor countries have said they would assist Nepal in the process of democratisation and maintaining peace after the end of the autocratic rule of King Gyanendra and the restoration of democracy in the Himalyan Nation last month.
