CPI(M) leader shot dead in BENGAL

Purulia, May 29 (UNI) A CPI(M) Local Committee leader was shot dead and another seriously injured in a clash between the activists of the party and the Opposition Trinamool Congress at Bardi in Balarampur of the district yesterday.

Police said here today that five had arrested in this connection.

A posse of police force had rushed to the spot and picket had been posted.

The injured had been hospitalised.

Old enmity was stated to be the reason behind the incident, police added.
