City businessman strangulated

Mumbai, May 29 (UNI) A city-based businessman was strangulated by unidentified persons at Maanipur in Vasai in neighbouring Thane district late last night.

According to police, they received a call saying a body was lying in a car near Welcome 'dhaba', off Mumbai Ahmedabad Highway.

Police rushed to the spot and took possession of the body.

The deceased, a resident of Ghatkopar in the Eastern suburbs, has been identified as Yogesh Purshotam Viswadia (44).

No arrests have been made so far.

A case has been registered u/s 302 (murder) of the IPC and further investigations are in progress, police added.
