AP govt to provide loans to SHGs
Hyderabad, May 29 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to release a loan assistance of Rs 3,000 crore to three lakh women's Self-Help Groups (SHGS) during 2006-07.
In a letter addressed to the SHGs, a copy of which was released to the media here today, Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy said the government was contemplating to provide more than Rs 10,000 crore with the nominal twentyfive paise interest to these groups during the next three years.
He said the government proposed to involve 26 commercial banks, 16 rural banks and 12 cooperative banks with over 3,850 branches all over the state to provide loans to the SHGs.
