Agumbe records 18 cm rain

Bangalore, May 29 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by weather office at 0830 hours today.

Monsoon was vigorous over Coastal Karnataka&South Interior Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.

Very heavy rainfall amounts (cm) : Agumbe 18, Bantwal,Belthangadi 16 each, Mudibidre 15, Dharmasthala 14, Mani 13, Mangalore AP, Puttur 12 ecah.

Heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Subramanya 10, Panambur, Madikeri 9 each, Mulki, Shirahatti, Sakleshpura 8 ecah, Mangalore, Shirali, Sringeri 7 each.

Other chief rainfall amounts (cm); Bhatkal, Talikote, Bijapur, Koppa, Mudigere, Sandur 5 each.

Maximum tempertures rose at many places over North Interior Karnataka. They were appreciably below normal at many places North Interior Karnataka.

Raichur recorded highest maximum temperature of 35 degree celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until Wednesday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka&South Interior Karnataka and at many places over North Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Heavy to very heavy rain may occur at most places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka ; Belgaum, Haveri Dharwad Gadag districts of North Interior Karnataka and Kodagu, Shimoga, Chikmagalur, Hassan districts of South Interior Karnataka. Rather heavy to heavy rainfall is likely to occur at many places over the remaining districts of North Interior Karnataka&South Interior Karnataka. Scattered heavy to very heavy rain likely to occur in all the districts of Coastal Karnataka&Ghat areas during next 24 hours. Isolated heavy rain is also likely to occur over remaining parts of South Interior Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka during the same period.
