Uma Bharti to launch Telangana movement

Hyderabad, May 28 (UNI) Bharatiya Jana Shakti (BJS) President Uma Bharti today announced here that her party would launch a movement for separate Telangana with the slogan ''Jai Telangana, Jai Sriram'' at the earliest.

Talking to newspersons, Ms Bharti, who came here as part of her 'yatra' from Rameshwaram to Kedarnath, said the BJS would constitute separate party committees for Telangana and Coastal Andhra.

Promising her party's support to the pro-Telengana parties, she said her party was also committed to the formation of Vidharbha and Bundelkhand states.

Claiming that sustainable development could be achieved in Backward Telangana region only when it attains statehood, the BJS president both the Congress and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) had failed to do justice to the region during their regimes.

Earlier, she visited the Telangana martyres' memorial and paid homage to those killed during Telangana agitation.
