TTD wants to replicate Dharmastala models in Tirupati
Dharmastala, Karnataka, May 28 (UNI) Union Minister and Tirupati Tirumala Devasthanam (TTD) Board Chairman T Subbarami Reddy today announced that a TTD information centre would be opened here soon and evinced keen interest in replicating the models of Sri Kshetra Dharmastala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) in Tirupati.
Inaugurating Gobar gas plants here, sponsored by SKDRDP and Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Bangalore, he complimented the efforts taken up by the SKDRDP under the leadership of Dr D Veerendra Heggade. He had brought along the TTD Chief Executive Officer to study the models of the SKDRDP to implement the same in Tirupati, he added.
Mr Reddy lauded the Dharmastala temple for spending a good budget of the temple for local activities with a humane face. Attracted by the self employment scheme of SKDRDP and other rural activities, several Northern States were seeking guidence from SKDRDP, he added.
He said that after assuming office in TTD, he had introduced the system of direct and immediate darshan facility to those devotees coming by 'Padayatra' to the hill shrine. Devouts aged over 75 years enjoyed the facility of direct entry through Mahadwaram to have Darshan of the presiding deity. Air conditioned queue complex had been built at the temple for those waiting for hours together to have darshan of the God, he added.
