Thirteen additional office bearers appointed

Mumbai, May 28 (UNI) Thirteen additional office bearers of the Mumbai Regional Congress Committee (MRCC) were appointed by Party president Sonia Gandhi on the recommendation of MRCC chief Gurudas Kamat.

Among the 13 additional office bearers, seven are vice-presidents, five General secretaries and one treasurer, according to an official release here today.

Vice presidents are messrs R R Singh, Yakub Memon, Kisan Jadhav, Suresh Koparkar, Vasant Nanavare, Shankarrao Shinde and Shrikant Sarmalkar. Messrs Zakir Ahmed, Pravin Naik, Popatrao Patil, Jayant Parab and Bhaskar Vichare were apppointed as General secretaries. While Amarjit Singh Manhas was the Treasurer.

Meanwhile, ten executive members of MRCC have been elevated as members to the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee as per party constitution.

They were Mr Eknath Gaikwad (MP), Ms Alka Desai, Ms Shakuntala Dhonde, Mr Sanjay Nirupma, Mr Yogesh Dubey, Mr Sayed Ahmed (MLA), Mr Kripa Shankar Singh (MLA), Ms Shaila Satpute and Ms Shahjadi Hakim, the release added.
