Shinde to launch projects for Super Thermal Power station

Patna, May 28 (UNI) Union Power Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde will lay the foundation of construction work of the main plant building of NTPCs Super Thermal Power Project at Barh tomorrow.

Official sources here today said Mr Shinde will also witness a signing agreement between the Bihar government and NTPC for renovation and modernisation of Kanti Thermal Power station near Muzaffarpur. Sources said the MOU would also be signed for Barauni Thermal Power station.

The NTPC plans to become a 66000 MW company by 2017. The Bihar government has identified NTPC as expert partner for enhancing power capacity in the state.

Besides Mr Shinde, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, former union ministers Ravi Shankar Prasad and Shatrughna Sinha will present at Barh function.
