PM undergoes minor surgery on left hand today

New Delhi, May 28: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh underwent a minor surgical procedure on his left wrist at the Army Hospital here this morning.

The operation on the left wrist followed a similar procedure on his right wrist on October 13 last year.

''This completes the procedure advised by doctors to relieve pressure on a nerve near both wrists,'' a statement from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said.

''After the successful surgery, the Prime Minister returned to his residence from where he will attend to his normal official duties,'' the statement said.

Dr Singh will start attending office after two days' rest.
