Media alleges commissioner was impolite

Vijayawada, May 28 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) strongly protested against the reported unparliamentary words of city police commissioner Umesh Sharaff to a press photographer, here this morning.

The trouble started when police did not allow the photographers to take shots of the modern equipment at s Dental Hospital which Mr Reddy inaugurated this morning. A press photographer brought it to the notice of the Commissioner who reportedly gave an answer reluctantly and allegedly used unparliamentary words.

Later, the journalists brought the issue to the notice of Chief Minister. It was learnt that the Vijayawada municipal commissioner Tadi Shakuntala and some MLA's also reported to Dr Reddy on the indifferent attitude of the police commissioner.

Meanwhile, the APUWJ has decided to submit a memorandum to the district collector Navin Mittal and stage a protest rally from State Information Centre to collector's office here.
