MCX COMDEX down 5.79 points

Mumbai, May 28 (UNI) The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) COMDEX closed at 2,324.54, down by 5.79 points (-0.25 per cent), during the week ended May 25.

The recorded total weekly turnover was Rs 45,034.74 crore, according to a MCX weekly report.

The MCX metal index closed at 2,663.65, down by 66.11 points (-2.48 per cent), while energy index closed at 2,682.19, up by 54.74 points (2.04 per cent), and agri index closed at 1,627.77, down by 6.01 points (-0.37 per cent).

All contracts of MCX gold were registered at a turnover of Rs 24,460.37 crore while silver recorded a turnover of Rs 12,143.66 crore. The outstanding open interest for all contracts of gold was 9,755 kg and the total volume recorded was 2,50,093 kg. The outstanding position for all MCX silver contracts for the week was 2,63,530 kg and the total volume recorded was 62,73,780 kg.

In the metal segment, all MCX copper contracts registered a turnover of Rs 4,819.60 crore with open interest of 3,770 ton and recorded total volume of 1,32,242 ton, while all MCX zinc contracts recorded a turnover of Rs 1,154.21 crore with open interest of 4,075 ton and recorded 73,920 ton as total volume. All MCX aluminium contracts recorded a turnover of Rs 225.54 crore with open interest of 4,388 kg and recorded 17,598 kg as total volume.

In the energy segment, all MCX crude oil contract showed a turnover of Rs 1,006.62 crore with open interest of 3,86,200 BBL and total volume recorded was 31,22,100 BBL.

Following are the turnovers of some of the major pulses traded on the MCX: Chana contracts recorded a turnover of Rs 101.59 crore with open interest of 9,650 ton and total volume recorded was 39,330 ton.

Following are the major commodities on the MCX: mentha oil contracts registered a turnover of Rs 224.46 crore with open interest of 2,230 kg and total volume recorded was 4,557 kg while refined soy oil contracts with open interest of 27,540 ton, registered a turnover of Rs 434.83 crore and total volume recorded was 1,03,760 tons. Potato contracts registered a turnover of Rs 155.58 crore with open interest of 90,120 ton and total volume recorded was 2,51,820 ton.
