Man dies while three get injured in cyclonic storm
Akola, Maharashtra May 28 (UNI) One person died and three others were injured following strong cyclonic winds with heavy rains in the district.
While one Madhukar Bhikaji Tayde of Kadvi Chikhli village in the Murtizapur tehsil area died when he was trapped in a huge silt of a flooded 'nala', three villagers Kapil Ashok Wankhade (12), Archana Asok Wankhade (15) and Kamlabai Khandare (60) were injured when a house collapsed on them yesterday.
The cyclonic storm along with moderate to heavy rains lashed several places including Barshitakli, Sonala Palsoda, Kurum, Vizora, Tulanga Bk Khirpuri, BK Tiwsa, Dhaba Khanapur in the Akola disrict, official sources said.
Three goats were also killed when lightning struck on them.
Several trees were uprooted and tin roofs of houses blown off.
The roof of the Zilla Parishad primary school at village Anbhora was also blown away.
Onion, mangoes and other standing crops at several places were also damaged, sources added.
