Include lesson on Veer Savarkar's life in school curriculum: Hussain

Mumbai, May 28 (UNI) Famous columnist and Padma Shri awardee Muzaffar Hussain, while paying homage to Veer Savarkar at Borivli in north Mumbai suggested each member of the audience to write to Chief Ministers of each state requesting school curriculum to include a lesson on the life of Veer Savarkar.

Addressing the audiences at a lecture series conducted here, Hussain said, ''If this happens, our youth will know about Savarkar's greatness, from his childhood onward and will be inspired from it.'' He added, ''All Islamic nations know India as Hindustan, but we are ashamed to call it Hindustan. We must keep in mind that our country implies the sense of fostering Hindu culture.

Savarkar was a Hinduist and was committed to integral Hindutva.

He favoured patriotism over any other ''isms''. If his thoughts reach everybody, the future of India will be inspired by patriotism and such India will become world leader, he asserted.
