College student drowns in Chathe river

Kohima, May 28 (UNI) A 19-year old student was drowned in the Chathe river in Nagaland.

According to official sources here today Ivan Lotha, a student of Patkai Christian College, went for to picnic with his three friends yesterday.

One of his friends suddenly fell into deep water and started drowning. Evan went to rescue him, but strong river currents swept him.

Police, with the help of the local people, are trying to fish out the body, which is still untraceable.
