Civic poll results will prove performance on welfare front:CM

Vijayawada, May 28 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said the civic poll results will prove whether the government failed in implementing welfare schemes.

Answering questions at a press meet here, Mr Reddy refused to comment on the resolution passed by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) at its 'mahanadu' accusing his government of total failure in the implementation of welfare schemes.

Dr Reddy accused the TDP of failing to construct 18 lakh houses in a year for the poor, as it promised, while in power. However, the Congress government was striving to fulfil their needs, he added.

Asked about farmers not getting the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for their products, he said the government was trying to provide it.
