Chouhan appeals to industrial sector for developing MP

Indore, May 28 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today issued a clarion call to the industrial sector to play a historic role in the state's all-round development and added that his government was committed to development of industry.

''Special arrangements will be made to ensure that the in the process od being draffed, new industrial policy does not in any way hamper the establishment of factory units. Industrialists' suggestion will be accorded weightage,'' he told industrialists during an interaction in Madhya Pradesh's commercial capital.

Referring to development of infrastructural facilities, the chief minister laid emphasis on proper roads, adequate power and smooth communication.

''Despite implementation of a single-window system, investors' problems could not be solved. Now, my regime will implement a single-table system where every department's representatives will gather to speedily clear investment proposals,'' he assured.

In January 2007, 'Global Destination Madhya Pradesh' would be organised along with FICCI with the twin objectives of comprehending industrialists' problems and encouraging investment.

''The industrial policy implemented in 2004 is being made more industry-friendly. Over the past couple of years, Rs 86,000 crore worth of proposals were received and the Centre has forwarded Rs 16,000 crore worth of proposals,'' said state Industry Minister Babulal Gaur.
