Write off agricultural loans: CPI(M) to PY Government

Pondicherry, May 27,(UNI) The Pondicherry unit of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), CPI (M), urged the administration to waive the agricultural loans of small and medium farmers, after the manner of Tamil Nadu.

According to an official release, a resoution to this effect was adopted at the Party executive committee meeting here yesterday. It also warned of massive agitations if the Centre ignored the Left parties and went ahead with the fuel price hike.

Another resolution demanded that the administration ensure 50 per cent seats as government seats in private medical colleges, the release said.
