Team India tiger at home poor on tour: Sidhu
Patiala, May 27 (UNI) Notwithstanding their brilliant track record at home, Team India are poor tourists and Rahul Dravid's men paid the price of ignoring experience in their West Indies tour, said former Test player Navjot Singh Sidhu.
Talking to UNI, the cricketer-turned-commentator said, ''They play consistently well at home but flounder abroad. The team played really well at home in the last five-six months but it's not the same when they play abroad.'' Reacting to India's ODI series loss against the West Indies.
the former opener said, ''There is no substitute for experience. I wonder why players like Anil Kumble and VVS Laxman are not in the team to face the mighty West Indies.
''India has paid heavily for playing inexperienced batsmen like Suresh Raina and Venugopal Rao,'' he said.
He also felt that the defeat would rankle the Men in Blue.
''The Indian team is ranked second and they will go through mental agony for being beaten by a team which is number eight in the world,'' he said.
