Mysore, May 27 (UNI) Students of Business Management from the University of St Gallen, Switzerland (UNISG), visited N Ranga Rao and Sons (NRR), a leading agarbathi manufacturing industry in the country, as part of their Asia context course.

A team of 30 students, led by Prof Li Choy Chong, Director, Asia Research Centre and Associate Dean International Academic Relations, UNISG, yesterday visited the factory and interacted with the management as well as workers.

Speaking on the occasion, NRR CEO Arjun Ranga said the processes and standards set by the NRR Group had been attracting students from across the globe over the years. The Group had always actively involved in socio-philanthropic activities, particularly in the field of education, ever since its inception.

Later, talking to reporters, Prof Chong said students need to experience and understand the culture and economic development of the chosen Asian country. They need to be exposed to contrasting societal contexts in traditional villages and modern cities present in today's Asia. ''India is a perfect example for this kind of society and Mysore, with its rich heritage and modern economic development, was a natural choice for us. NRR has been instrumental in putting Mysore on the global map of traditional cottage industry.'' UNI BSP RG DH RN0424
