SVU to split college into 7 units

Tirupati, May 27 (UNI) The Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) has split the Sri Venkateswara University College of Arts and Sciences here into seven units to enable it keep pace with the developments in the field of education.

Besides, the move will engender administrative convenience, SVU Vice Chancellor S Jayarama Reddy told UNI here today.

The colleges will start functioning from June one. Dr Reddy also said the SVU was undertaking several reforms in administration and academics to help attract students from abroad.

A committee comprising nine professors had been constitued to examine the issue in detail, he added.
