Rain delays start of third day at Edgbaston

BIRMINGHAM, England, May 27 (Reuters) Rain delayed the start of the third day of the second test between England and Sri Lanka at Edgbaston today.

The players were still warming up 30 minutes before the scheduled start but the covers were brought on after a heavy downpour. Rain is forecast throughout the day.

England finished the second day in a dominant position, restricting Sri Lanka to 86 for four in their second innings.

The tourists still trail England by 68 runs.
