Raghubar charges Munda govt with "failure" to use central fund
Ranchi, May 26 (UNI) Union Rural Development Minster and senior leader of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Raghubar Prasad Sinha today criticised the UPA-government in Jharkhand and said the latter has "not been able to utilise" the developmental central funds meant for the state.
Addressing a workshop on Gramin Rojgar Gurantee Yajana (GRGY) and a meeting of the RJD leaders here, Mr Sinha said the Arjun Munda government had "completely failed" to deliver the goods and its "ineffciency" was reflected on many fronts.
"The state government had not even held panchayat elections whereas two such elections had been conducted in Bihar after Jharkhand was carved up," he said.
The RJD leader said the people in Jharkhand were "deprived" of the direct fund meant for the panchayat through the 12th Finance Commission because of the "failure" of the government.
He said the GRGY had been introduced in 200 districts in the country of which 20 were chosen from Jharkhand adding in the next year the rest two districts in the state would also be covered under the scheme with the help from the state government.
