Prize winners list being drawn up at Cannes

Cannes, May 27 (UNI) With the Cannes Film Festival concluding tomorrow, various juries are engaged in drawing up lists of prize-winners.

The festival closes with the award of the Golden Palms at a glittering ceremony.

Pedro Almodovar's 'Volver' is nosing ahead in the main prize category, though Cannes' main jury is known for throwing surprises each year.

'Volver', starring Penelope Cruz, dwells around three generations of women as they try to cope with life.

The first prize-list of this year's Cannes Festival has already selected Short Films for the Cinefondation section. The category was created two decades back to encourage new generations of film-makers.

Seventeen short films with running-times ranging between five-50 minutes, were shown in this fest.
