Play to start at 2115 hrs IST rain-hit second test

BIRMINGHAM, England, May 27 (Reuters) Play was scheduled to begin after tea on the third day of the second test between England and Sri Lanka at Edgbaston after rain prevented any cricket in the first two sessions today.

Umpires Darrell Hair and Aleem Dar made an inspection at 2030 hrs ist and decided the saturated outfield had dried sufficiently.

Play will start at 1645 and 34 overs remain in the day.

Sri Lanka Lanka are 86 for four in their second innings and still trail England by 68 runs.
