Panambur records very heavy rainfall of 13 cm

Bangalore, May 27 : Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office here at 0830 hrs today.

The South west Monsoon has further advanced into most parts of Coastal Karnataka&South Interior Karnataka. Conditions are favorable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon in the remaining parts of Interior Karnataka during next two to three days.

Monsoon was active over Coastal Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at many places over North Interior Karnataka and at a few places over South Interior Karnataka.

Panambur recorded very heavy rainfall of 13 cm.

Heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Mangalore 11, Mangalore AP 7.

Other chief rainfall amounts (cm); Mulki, Bantwal, Mudibidre, Hukkeri, Dharwad 5 each, Mani, Puttur, Sulya, Udupi, Karkala Honavar, Bailhongal, Mahalingapur, Sindagi 4 each, Belthangadi, Subramanya, Siddapura (Udupi dt), Kadra , Yedwad, Athani, Chikodi ,Indi, Agumbe, Bandipura, Davanagere, Holalkere, Arsikere, Kunigal 3 each.

Maximum temperatures appreciably fell at a few places over North Interior Karnataka and fell ata few places over South Interior Karnataka. They were markedly below normal at a few places over North Interior Karnataka and appreciably below normal at a few places over South Interior Karnataka.

Bellary recorded highest maximum temperature of 33.7 degrees celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until Monday morning: Rain/thundershowers is likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka; at many places over South Interior Karnataka and at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to heavy rain is likely to occur at most places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi districts; at many places over Uttara Kannada, Shimoga Chikmagalur, Hassan Kodagu districts. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over Mysore, Chamarajnagara, Mandya, Kolar, Bangalore Rural, Bangalore Urban districts of South Interior Karnataka and Belgaum, Dharwad, Haveri, Gadag, Koppal, Gulbarga, Raichur districts of North Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over the remaining districts of Interior Karnataka.

Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka during next 24 hours.

Forecast for Bangalore: Generally cloudy. One or two spells of light rain. Maximum temperature would be around 30 degrees celsius
