No immediate third front possible, says Yechuri
Kolkata, May 27: Ruling out any immediate possibility for a third front, the CPI (M) today said the party would wait for the future without going in for any hasty 'cut and paste' job.
Party spokesman Sitaram Yechuri told reporters that the CPI(M) still had an objective to building up a non-BJP and non-Congress 'third alternative', which would take time.
''We do not want a cut and paste job to prop up a third front.
But a third alternative has to be built, which will take time,'' he said during a break in the ongoing CPI (M) Politbureau meeting.
In reply to a question, Mr Yechuri said the third alternative must be based on the issues of anti-communalism and anti-people economic policies. Parties willing to go for a sustained joint movement on this policy would constitute such a force, he said.
