Myanmar junta extends Suu Kyi detention by a year
YANGON, May 27 (Reuters) Myanmar's military junta has extended opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi's house arrest by another year, a government source today said.
Earlier, a Home Ministry source said the former Burma's military rulers had prolonged the Nobel peace laureate's detention, but it was not clear for how long.
Suu Kyi has been behind bars or under house arrest for more than 10 of the last 16 years.
