MP to frame new industry policy

Bhopal, May 27 (UNI) Members of a cabinet sub-committee are holding discussions with entrepreneurs and industrialists at the divisional level to seek inputs for framing a new industries' promotion policy in Madhya Pradesh.

The committee, headed by state Commerce and Industries Minister Babulal Gaur and having Finance Minister of the state Raghavji and PWD Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya as members, will be having direct dialogue with the industrialists and their representatives at the state level conference of industrialists at Indore tomorrow, official sources said.

On the basis of the feedback and suggestions received, a new policy would be finalised.

The state's industry policy has been changed several times in order to attract more investments. The state is also planning to organise an NRI conclave to attract investments from non-resident Indians.

Along with developing infrastructure including roads and power position, the airports at Bhopal and Indore are also being upgraded to match with the international standards.

Mr Gaur has claimed that the state received investment proposals to the tune of more than Rs 80,000 crore, including over Rs 10,000 crore investment on the refinery to be set up at Bina.

Madhya Pradesh recently rolled out its new policy on information technology announcing several incentives to attract IT and IT-enabled services. I T parks are also being planned at Bhopal, Indore and other centres.
