Fire in shoe manufacturing unit in Delhi

New Delhi, May 27 (UNI) A fire broke out in a shoe manufacturing unit at Peeragarhi in West Delhi today.

Over two dozen fire tenders had been sent to douse the flames, the fire department said.

''It is a medium fire. So far there are no reports of casualties.

We are trying to control it,'' a fire department official said.

As many as 154 people were killed and 2176 injured in 126 fire mishaps in Delhi in 2005-06.
