FIR filed against 70 officials

Bhagalpur, May 27 (UNI) The district administration of Bhagalpur has filed FIRs against 70 government officials, including 17 magistrates, for dereliction of duty during the fifth phase of the Panchayat elections held today.

District Magistrate Bipin Kumar said all these officials were found absent during polling in Jagdishpur and Gauradih block of Bhagalpur. Taking serious note of the erring officials' conduct, orders for filing FIRs aganist them were issued, he added.

Mr Kumar said departmental action would be initiated against the defiant officials after thorough probe.
