Centre, NDFB signs MoU to suspend operation
New Delhi, May 27 : The government and the National Democratic Front of Bodoland have signed a Memorandum of Understanding today for ''the suspension of operation'' for another six months, home ministry sources said here.
Special Secretary Internal Security in the Union Home Ministry S Rajgopalan and NDFB leader Basumutary signed the MoU in the afternoon.
The two sides had last year signed an agreement to suspend the operation for one year. Now this MoU has extended ''the suspension'' for next six months, sources added.
Talks between the government and the Bodo insurgents have been going on intermittently with the two sides deliberating on the possible solution to the Bodo issue.
