Case lodged against SP MLA and supporters
Lakhimpur Kheri, May 27 (UNI) A case was registered against ruling Samajwadi Party MLA Arvind Giri and his supporters for forcibly taking possession of a guest house in Dudhwa National Park last month and keeping some forest employees hostage.
Park's Deputy director P P Singh today said UNI on April 2 the MLA and his 15 supported arrived at the Kishnupur Sanctuary range and forcibly took possession of the guest house by intimidating forest employees. A watchman was also assaulted by them.
The incident had angered the department employees, who jointly threatened to go on strike.
Taking serious note of it, an FIR was lodged yesterday, Mr Singh informed.
