BJP MLA Nete, supporters arrested in Gadchiroli

Nagpur, May 27 (UNI) Bhartiya Janata party (BJP) MLA Ashok Nete along with his several supporters were today arrested when they were staging a demonstration at Gadchiroli demanding the transfer of Gadchiroli Collector Shyam Tayade.

Gadchiroli police said hundreds of BJP activists, led by Mr Nete, arrived at Gandhi Chowk and started shouting slogans against the Collector alleging that he was involved in corruption cases.

The demonstrators, who demanded Mr Tayade's immediate transfer from the Gadchiroli district, started moving towards the Collector's office when police arrested Mr Nete and his supporters. They were later released on bail, police added.
