Woman commits suicide after killing her mother, 3 children

Hubli, May 26 (UNI) A woman has killed her mother and three children by feeding them food laced with poison and attempted suicide by consuming the same at Gudisagar village in Dharwad district of Karnataka.

Police said Nirmala Patted (30) had resorted to the extreme step yesterday due to frequent quarrel with her husband, Shankareppa, over financial matters. They were shifted to the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences here.

While Nirmala's mother Gangawwa (60) and her children Mudiyappa (8), Laxmi (6) and Gurunath (2) died at the hospital this morning, she was battling for life.

Police have arrested Shankareppa.
