Water resources to prepare social justice friendly schemes
Patna, May 26 (UNI) State water resources department has decided to prepare development and welfare schemes to ensure social justice to the downtrodden section of the society.
Commissioner of the department, Hemchand Sirohi said today that he had issued directives to all chief engineers and chairpersons of different development authorities in this regard.
''With a view to provide work to the backwards and downtroddens of the society, development plan should be suitably prepared which could offer livelihoods to them'' he added.
He said concerned engineers had been directed to maintain transperancy in inviting and approval of tenders and all the relevant informations should be displayed on website. It would help to overcome controversies arising out from award of tenders to the different parties, he claimed.
Mr Sirohi had also directed the chief engineer of Bhagalpur to take steps for plantation of 'Jetropha' which would be used to extract bio diesel.
''Forest department had prepared 29 lakhs Jetropha plants to cater the needs of commercial exploitation of bio-diesels in the state,'' he added.
