Two electrocuted in Pondy

Pondicherry, May 26 : Two persons were electrocuted in two different mishaps here last evening.

Police said Muthulakshmi (65) of Bahour near here stepped on a live wire, which snapped and fell in front of her house following heavy rain and strong wind last evening. She died on the spot.

In the other incident, Marimuthu (26), a mason, died on the spot when a live wire snapped and fell on him at Reddiyarpalayam.

According to police, Marimuthu was working on the drainage in a house at Mariyalnagar when a neighbour constructing a house purchased steel rods and took them to the first floor of the building. The rods touched the overhead live wire which snapped and fell on the mason.
