Traders to join Anti-reservation Rally tomorrow

New Delhi, May 26 (UNI) Traders here today lent their support to tomorrow's protest rally organised by medical students on the reservation issue.

Secretary general of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) Praveen Khandelwal said traders would participate in large numbers in the protest rally being held by medical students at Ramlila Maidan.

The traders will suspend operations tomorrow from 1600 Hours, he said.

In a joint statement, the trade leaders said.''In interest of the country and for global competitiveness, we appeal to the government to reconsider its decision which can have far reaching consequences.'' Meanwhile, representatives of the Tyre trade, while expressing solidarity with the agitating doctors, urged them to suspend their stir.

''The poor patients are unduly suffering because of the rigid stand taken by Indian Medical Association (IMA) The Reservation in educational institutions is a larger socio-economic issue," they said.
