Tension grips Zunebato town due to interfactional clash

Kohima, May 26 (UNI) Tension gripped Zunheboto town Council due to interfactional clashes of NSCN.

The situation became tense following the killing of the NSCN-IM cadre in Zunheboto town on Wednesday in a pre-dawn swoop by the NSCN (K) cadres to retaliate the killing of their Education Kilonser Ngapang Konyak at Mon town recently by NSCN-IM cadres.

In another attack at Satakha town at the pre-dawn on Wednesday, the NSCN (K) cadres also killed one NSCN-IM cadre and recovered some ammunition.

Meanwhile, Zunheboto Deputy Commissioner C.K.Nihekhu admitted that the situation is tense but under control. However, arrangements have been made to ensure peaceful atmosphere in Zunheboto and Satakha towns.
