Sanchar awards 2005-06 presented in AP

Hyderabad, May 26 (UNI) BSNL Andhra Pradesh Chief General Manager J Ramachandra Rao today presented Sanchar Awards for 2005-06 in the city.

He presented Vishist Sanchar Seva, Bharat Sanchar Sree, Sanchar Seva and Sanchar Saradhi awards to the officials in recognition of their excellent performance, an official release said here.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Rao said the AP circle was competing well with the private operators to expand its customer base in the state.

He informed the AP circle had earned a revenue of Rs 3,009 crore in 2005-06 which was Rs 160 crore more than the previous year.

Stating that the BSNL provided one lakh Wireless in Local Loop (WLL) and 4.5 lakh mobile connections in the last financial year, Mr Rao called upon BSNL officials to maintain the number one position.
