Rains bring respite to the Kolkatans

Kolkata, May 26 (UNI) Rains greeted Kolkatans and neighbouring areas today causing the mercury to drop appreciably.

Although it did not rain heavily, the sky remained cloudy throughout the day.

Met office sources informed that the city received rainfall of around 8.6 mm.

Sources said the maximum temperature recorded was 30.1 degree Celsius today, which is five degrees below normal while the minimum was 27 degree Celsius.

However, there was not much respite on the humidity front.

The maximum relative humidity was 95 per cent and the minimum was 58 per cent.

The Met office forecasted that the maximum temperature would be around 34 degree Celsius.

There will be rainfall and thunder storm in some parts of the city and the sky will remain partly cloudy.
