Rain delays start of second day in Edgbaston test
BIRMINGHAM, England, May 26 (Reuters) The start of day two of the second Test between England and Sri Lanka was delayed today because of rain.
Umpires will make an inspection at 1530 hrs IST, which was the scheduled start time. Overnight rain in Birmingham left areas of the outfield saturated.
With showers forecast throughout the day, there may be further interruptions should play begin at any point.
Yesterday, England reached 138-3 after bowling Sri Lanka out for just 141 when Liam Plunkett claimed Test-best bowling figures of 3-43. Kevin Pietersen is 30 not out from 33 balls.
