MLAs swearing-in challenged
Kochi, May 26 (UNI) A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court today adjourned a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking to declare as unconstitutional MLAs taking oath in the name of 'Allah,' for detailed hearing.
In the writ petition filed by Madhu Parumala, the oath taken by 11 MLAs in the Kerala Assembly were challenged on the ground they taken in the name of 'Allah' and hence unconstitutional.
The Division Bench comprising Mr Justice K S Radhakrishnan and Mr Justice V Ramkumar heard preliminary arguments of the petitioner today on the petition and adjourned it for detailed hearing to May 30.
