Maharashtra CM not to celebrate birthday

Mumbai, May 25 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh will not celebrate his birthday in view of the calamities faced by the state in the last one year.

An official release here today said the Chief Minister has asked his followers in the Congress party not to organise any programmes to mark his birthday and not spend money on garlands, banners and posters, which they can instead contribute to the Chief Ministers' Relief Fund.

Mr Deshmukh will be away in Delhi tomorrow, the release added.
