Jaya to attend House from tomorrow

Chennai, May 26 (UNI) Terming the suspension of AIADMK MLAs for the rest of the session by the Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker as an act amounting to ''murder of democracy,'' former Chief Minister and AIADMK Supremo J Jayalalithaa today said she would attend the House proceedings from tomorrow to put forth the party's views.

''It is not easy to stifle the voice of the AIADMK. Of the 61 party MLAs, the Speaker has suspended only 60 members. But, I am there. I will go to the Assembly from tomorrow to voice the truth,'' she told reporters at her party headquarters here.

Describing the suspension of AIADMK MLAs as a very ''harsh punishment,'' she said Congress and the ruling DMK members had assaulted her party MLAs.

The Governor's address was based on false promises of the DMK Government and the Congress and DMK MLAs sought to give false information to the House based on them, Ms Jayalalithaa alleged.

When the AIADMK members wanted to offer clarification, they were denied the opportunity and attacked, she claimed.

''They have pre-planned (the move) to suspend our MLAs without any valid reason, fearing we will expose all their false claims,'' she added.
